Many people today find that before they can start a day's work they need to have a good cup of coffee first. Whilst many are preferring to buy coffee beans that are already roasted to make a fresh cup of coffee, others are preferring to buy green coffee beans, which they can then roast themselves. For those of you who are thinking about green coffee beans which you can then roast yourself in order to make great cups of coffee with there are certain factors which need to be taken into consideration. Below we take a look at what these factors are. The first factor than needs to be taken into consideration when buying these kinds of coffee beans is their size and shape. Ideally you should look to buy ones which have a uniform appearance to them. If not then when it actually comes to roasting them the whole process becomes somewhat more difficult. Smaller beans may well be over cooked and larger ones under cooked which would result in a taste that is not consistent. As well as making sure the beans have a similar appearance to them you need to look closely at the color of them. Again it is better to go with those beans that look very similar in color and if there is any unevenness between the beans then avoid them. Often this has been caused by their being a problem when they are being dried. If you choose beans which have the same color and tone to them you will find that the coffee you make after they have been roasted will taste similar each time that they are used. The next factor which needs to be taken into consideration is where the beans have actually been grown. There are a number of different countries that now produce coffee beans which they dry and then sell in their unroasted format or which have been roasted. Both Hawaii and Columbia produce great coffee beans and although they both grow theirs on mountains each of their coffees comes with its own distinctive flavor. However if you are someone who prefers decaffeinated coffee rather than more traditional forms there are green coffee beans available that enable you to roast them and produce this kind of coffee for you. The main countries that produce decaffeinated green coffee beans today are Columbia, Guatemala and Costa Rica. But again the coffee beans that each of these countries produce taste completely different. The last factor which you should take into consideration when thinking about buying green coffee beans is where you want to actually get them from. Today you have a number of different options to you. You can either go to a specialist coffee shop online or you can seek out a specialty store close to where you live. The great thing about buying them online is that you can order them whilst sat at your desk at work and they will then be dispatched and delivered to your home. As previously mentioned you can purchase green coffee beans by going to a specialty coffee shop. The advantage to this is that you can talk with the proprietor and they may suggest a number of different types that you may want to try. Also you may find that they do little packets that contain various different types of coffee beans for roasting which you can then try at home and make a decision on which one you prefer the most. Doing this may well work out a lot cheaper rather than buying large batches of each of them at any one time.
